Another week down and a slight hiccup

Last week started on a high note, and while the rest of the days weren't as great as chemo day, they weren't especially awful either. Having an extra snow day thrown in there didn't help at all with our cabin fever, but we all survived :) 

We tried something a little different last week with giving Kendall some extra fluids after chemo, and then giving zofran on a schedule for a couple days and that seemed to help get her eating more, so we tried it again this week. 

Also, chemo started in the afternoon this time instead of the morning, so Finley got to come down with us for a bit and see how we start our days. Unfortunately for all of us, it's not quite as fun and exciting without Child Life coming to give us all lots of toys and attention, so Fin's visit didn't last too long before he headed home with Gram :)

Chemo started right at naptime, so kendall ended up sleeping through the whole thing, including the every 15 minutes vital which she doesn't like that  much. It was a calm and relaxing afternoon while she slept.

The evening was uneventful, but as I was reading to Kendall before bed I noticed a slight fever. We watched it over the next hour, but it went up instead of down, and even though it never hit 101, we had to head down to the ER for antibiotics around 11pm since that's the protocol with a fever. Even though her fever never got any higher, her heart rate is a little high, so we were the proud winners of our very own inpatient visit - Boooo! So here we sit, Kendall and I taking up residency at CCHMC for a couple days (48 hr minimum) while the boys hold down the fort at home.

All signs point to just a mild virus at this point, but any extra thoughts and prayers that you can spare to send our way would be appreciated!
